My Birthday
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well." - Psalm 139:13-14
Yesterday was my 18th birthday. It was an awesome day, being able to reflect on how blessed I am and spend the day with my best friend. I am so grateful for God's love, His grace, all He has blessed me with, and how He allows me to enjoy Him and His creation. There are times when I struggle with how I view my significance, but I am just reminded of the fact that He sees me as special! My significance is in Him.
It's so amazing to me how much God cares about us. He worked out every single little detail in creating us and works out every single little detail in our lives! He was diligent in creating me and He made me unique. He chose a specific day and time for me to be brought into this world. "All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be" (Psalm 139:16). He created me for a certain purpose. "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). He knows everything about me. "O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a work is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. YOu hem me in - behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, to lofty for me to attain" (Psalm 139:1-6). He even watches over me and constantly thinks about me! "How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you" (Psalm 139:18).
He is so great and the way He sees us, we are full of worth. To know how much God really cares about me is just mind-blowing. And I am so thankful to know Him and have such a wonderful relationship with Him. He redeemed me unto Himself "and I will live to enjoy the light'" (Job 33:28). I look forward what God has planned for the rest of my life and I will let Him lead me to where He wants me. I'm just glad I know this God who loves us so much!
"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." - Zephaniah 3:17
